Sand Extraction Project (Stages 5-8), Woongoolba, Queensland
Brief:A detailed acid sulfate soil report was completed for a 40 hectare, complex sub-surface site on the Logan River. By using existing geological information, PE was able to reduce the number of boreholes and sample analyses while meeting statutory planning requirements.
3.6km 33kV Feeder Alignment – Nudgee to Brisbane Airport, Queensland
Brief:An acid sulfate soil and groundwater investigation were undertaken and a construction management plan prepared. This involved installation of 13 groundwater wells, on a 3.6 kilometre services alignment traversing sensitive wetlands, contaminated land, the Gateway Motorway, and Brisbane Airport Corporation land. The diverse and sensitive land uses and underground services on the alignment presented significant challenges, combined with the investigation and management plan being a matter of urgency for our client in order to move forward with the project. PE was able to deliver these services within the strict timeframes to the satisfaction of DPI&F, without issue.
